Upaya Peningkatan Kesadaran Siswa terhadap Pemilahan Sampah Organik dan Nonorganik melalui Program Sosialisasi di Lingkungan Sekolah

Abstract

Waste problems in the school environment remain a challenge, particularly regarding students’ low awareness in sorting organic and non-organic waste. The lack of understanding about the types of waste and their environmental impacts often results in mixed waste that is not managed optimally. This community service activity aims to increase students’ awareness of the importance of waste sorting through a socialization program conducted in the school environment. The program was implemented through material presentations and interactive discussions. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the differences between organic and non-organic waste, as well as the development of a caring attitude toward maintaining school cleanliness. Through this activity, it is expected that positive habits in disposing of and sorting waste properly will be established, thereby creating a clean and sustainable school environment. This article is limited to its implementation at SMA El-Syihab Bandar Lampung by PLP-KKN students, Period 1, 2026. This article also contributes to academic knowledge as well as practical strategies for implementing Goal 12 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
