Pemanfaatan Platform Digital dalam Penguatan Budaya Literasi Siswa SMP

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the literacy culture of junior high school (SMP) students through the use of digital platforms as learning support media. The problems faced by the partners were low student reading interest, limited variety of literacy media, and suboptimal use of digital technology in school literacy activities. To address these issues, the community service team conducted training and mentoring on the use of digital literacy platforms integrated with the school literacy program. The implementation method included needs analysis, program socialization, training on digital platform use, classroom implementation practices, and evaluation and reflection with teachers and students. The evaluation instruments used participant response questionnaires, student participation observations, and activity documentation. The results of the activities showed increased student participation in digital reading activities, increased literacy motivation, and increased teacher competency in managing digital platforms as literacy media. Furthermore, the partner schools demonstrated a commitment to continuing the program through platform integration in routine literacy activities. This program has had a positive impact on strengthening a technology-based literacy culture and encouraging the transformation of literacy practices that are more adaptive to digital developments. Going forward, this mentoring model can be replicated in other schools with similar characteristics.
